Relationship to Kabbalah

The word "soul" can be used in various ways. As long as we know the underlying idea we will not be confused. Kabbalah uses the word "soul" as a comprehensive term with degrees within it.

The Kabbalah posits that the human soul has three elements, the nefesh, ru'ach, and neshamah. The nefesh is found in all humans, and enters the physical body at birth. It is the source of one's physical and psychological nature. The next two parts of the soul are not implanted at birth, but can be developed over time; their development depends on the actions and beliefs of the individual. They are said to only fully exist in people awakened spiritually. A common way of explaining the three parts of the soul is as follows:

  • Nefesh (נפש): the lower part, or "animal part", of the soul. It is linked to instincts and bodily cravings.
  • Ruach (רוח): the middle soul, the "spirit". It contains the moral virtues and the ability to distinguish between good and evil.
  • Neshamah (נשמה): the higher soul, or "super-soul". This separates man from all other life-forms. It is related to the intellect, and allows man to enjoy and benefit from the afterlife. This part of the soul is provided at birth and allows one to have some awareness of the existence and presence of God.

Another Essential Distinction

There is another essential distinction which if it is not recognized can cause much confusion.
Underlying the physical body is the "template " upon which the body is formed. This template is of an electrical nature (electromagnetic) and can be photographed by Kirlian photography.
Unfortunately, in the course of history some people have referred to this as the "soul". Here is where the confusion can begin because the "soul" is an even higher body.
The soul (self) is completely invisible to the senses (and science) and always will be invisible to them. (But it can be internally experienced and it's reality known.)
The first level of subtle body beyond the physical (which I called "template") is called in some systems the etheric body (or etheric double, etherial body or life force) and can be seen by the senses.
It is essential to distinguish it from the soul.
We also have the words "astral body" and "sidereal body" as a further possible source of confusion. For now I will associate the words "astral body" with "soul" and not even use the words "sidereal body".
I conclude that Sheldrake's morphic fields are a combination of the etheric and astral bodies (he does not distinguish them).
Relevant link:
"Rudolf Steiner, considered the etheric reality or life principle as quite distinct from the physical material reality, being intermediate between the physical world and the astral or soul world. The etheric body can be characterised as the life force also present in the plant kingdom. It maintains the physical body's form until death. At that time, it separates from the physical body and the physical reverts to natural disintegration."
"Some clairvoyants and occultists have produced drawings and paintings that record their perceptions of the etheric body; see Leadbeater's Man Visible and Invisible for one example. The images produced by Kirlian photography bear obvious resemblances to these graphics, showing a spiky-looking energy field extending a few inches around the human body (as well as other biological specimens, like leaves, and objects like coins). The fact that Kirlian photography can capture the acupuncture points of the body links the technology with concepts of prana, qi, bioplasma, and related ideas and theories. For some believers in the etheric body, Kirlian photography provides important supporting evidence—though skeptics are generally not swayed." [Skeptics are never swayed. They have too much invested in being a skeptic.]

Rupert Sheldrake - Morphic Fields and Morphic Resonance

Here are some links to articles by Rupert Sheldrake. He poses mechanisms for understanding how levels of reality fit within each other and operate as an organic whole.
"In this essay, I am going to discuss the concept of collective memory as a background for understanding Jung’s concept of the collective unconscious. The collective unconscious only makes sense in the context of some notion of collective memory."
"....... the universe is more like an organism than a machine. The Big Bang recalls the mythic stories of the hatching of the cosmic egg: it grows, and as it grows it undergoes an internal differentiation that is more like a gigantic cosmic embryo than the huge eternal machine of mechanistic theory. With this organic alternative, it might make sense to think of the laws of nature as more like habits; perhaps the laws of nature are habits of the universe, and perhaps the universe has an in-built memory."
"Morphic fields are organized in nested hierarchies . For example, there are morphic fields surrounding the atoms in our bodies, which are within the higher level morphic fields of molecules, organelles, cells, organs and limbs, all of which exist within the morphic field associated with the entire body. The body field, in turn, would be within the field of relationships that constitute a family, within a larger social group. Societies, in turn, are embedded within ecosystems, and ecosystems within the planetary system, “Gaia”. And by extrapolation, we could extend the series of nested morphic fields until we reach out beyond planetary, solar system and galactic limits to encompass the entire universe."
"And you see, even if he could evoke memories by stimulating part of the brain, it doesn't prove they're stored there. For example, if I stimulate the tuning knob of your TV set and it tunes on to a different channel, it doesn't prove that all the programs on that other channel are stored inside the bit that I've stimulated, namely the tuning knob, and it could be that it's just simply part of the receiving or tuning system. I think the brain is like a tuning system, and that we tune in to our own memories by a process of morphic resonance, which I believe is a general process which happens throughout the whole of nature."
"I want to explore some ideas about the social and cultural aspects of morphic fields and morphic resonance. A familiar comparison might be that of a hive of bees or a nest of termites: each is like a giant organism, and the insects within it are like cells in a superorganism. Although comprised of hundreds and hundreds of individual insect cells, the hive or nest functions and responds as a unified whole."

The World is Awakening

As we can see from the various quotes, articles and books that I have listed in this blog, there are a number of people and groups who are groping toward a new understanding. In their respective areas they are bumping up against the limits of their field of study and are dimly perceiving that there is more to the total of reality. This awareness often takes the form of paradoxes and oddities. These paradoxes stem from the dim realization that the questions which they have, cannot be answered by reference to just the level they have been considering.
For example the plenum is a recognition (albeit a dim one) of the fact that there is an invisible level of reality that permeates and influences (directs) the physical level.
Different people have given this different names, such as plenum (zero point field, quantum vacuum), akashic record (akashic field), astral plane, morphogenetic field, ether (etheric body), collective conscious, collective unconscious, holographic field, the Field, implicate order, subtle body etc.
So in various ways and in various areas there is an awakening.
To call it an "awakening" is both helpful and misleading. It is helpful in the sense that there is a growing realization that there is something more and that it is significant. It is misleading because it is not an actual awakening to the reality of it but a "knowing about" it from a distance.

DNA Phantom Effect

DNA Phantom Effect
Here is a link:

"Note that both types of data are crucial for the development of a new unified nonlinear quantum field theory which must include the physical theory of consciousness and should be based on a precise quantitative background.

According to our current hypothesis, the DNA phantom effect may be interpreted as a manifestation of a new physical vacuum substructure which has been previously overlooked. It appears that this substructure can be excited from the physical vacuum in a range of energies close to zero energy provided certain specific conditions are fulfilled which are specified above. Furthermore, one can suggest that the DNA phantom effect is a specific example of a more general category of electromagnetic phantom effects . This suggests that the electromagnetic phantom effect is a more fundamental phenomenon which can be used to explain other observed phantom effects including the phantom leaf effect and the phantom limb ."

Here is a link that shows the connection between the world of electromagnetism (eg. light) and the world of the cell:

"Studies with exogenously [externally] administered electromagnetic fields have shown that both transcription (RNA synthesis) and translation (protein synthesis) can be induced by electromagnetic fields"

"In the human brain, pyramidal cells are present and arranged in layers in the cortex of the two cerebra. The pyramidal cells act as electro-crystal cells immersed in extra-cellular tissue fluids, and seem to operate in the fashion of a liquid crystal oscillator in response to different light commands, or light pulses which, in turn, change the orientation of every molecule and atom within the body. Biogravitational encoded switches present in the brain allow a type of liquid network to release ions that induce currents to the surrounding coiled dendrites. Electron impulses from a neuron, on reaching the dendrite coil of the abutted cell, generate a micro amperage magnetic field, causing the ultra thin crystal, or liquid crystal in the pyramidal cell to be activated --- in a very unusual way. On flexing, this ultra thin crystal becomes a piezoelectric oscillator, producing a circular polarized light pulse that travels throughout the body, or travels as a transverse photonic bundle of energy."

"According to Einstein, matter is to be regarded itself as part, in fact the principle part, of the electromagnetic field, and electric energy is therefore the fundamental origin of our entire physical world. "

"An interesting property of PN-junctions of semiconductor diodes may be observed when current is run though the diode in forward bias, i.e. when there is a good current flow across the barrier. Some of the energy is turned into light and emitted from the surface and are therefore known as light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Researchers found that bone was an LED that required an outside source of light before an electric current would make it release its own light, and the light it emitted was at an infrared frequency invisible to us, but consistent.
With the use of an applied current of a few microamperes regeneration of the spinal cord, optic nerve and bone has been demonstrated and naturally generated electric currents have been linked to changes in developing embryos and in regenerating limbs."

"During the past decades a great increase has taken place in research on the effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation on biological systems. Much has been revealed about the human organisms on all levels but the question still being asked by scientists is: What electromagnetic signal might tune to a magnetic resonant energy which would alter the metabolic genetic regulation to bring about growth and repair? It has been considered by this author that tRNA molecules may play a central roll to cause cells to alter their normal properties which will then receive the original genetic transmission, given through a 'spin point' to a cell."

Something from Something

Here is a quote from an earlier post:
Scientists use light to create particles:
"A trailblazing experiment at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in California has confirmed a longstanding prediction by theorists that light beams colliding with each other can goad the empty vacuum into creating something out of nothing."

The way the researchers have put it is misleading.

The vacuum is not empty. It is full. It is the underlying energy of everything. (It is not separate).
In its energy form
it is not visible to the senses. When the light beams collided they created something material out of the energy. It was not creating something from nothing, it was transforming something (energy) into something (matter).
As Haisch put it: "Viewed this way, the process of creation is the exact opposite of making something out of nothing. It is on the contrary a filtering process that makes something out of everything.".

The Conection with Archetypes and Astrology

There is an important connection to astrology and archetypes.
Here are some helpful links:
"The basic principle of astrology is that the planets have a fundamental, cosmically based connection to specific archetypal forces or principles which influence human existence, and that the patterns formed by the planets in the heavens bear a meaningful correspondence to the patterns of human affairs on the Earth. In terms of individuals, the positions of the planets at the time and place of a person's birth are regarded as corresponding to the basic archetypal patterns of that person's life and character.
Astrology makes possible a further understanding of one's life—its cycles, its ups and downs, the crises and the breakthroughs, the periods of major change and transformation—through the study of transits. Transits occur when the planets currently in the sky form certain geometrical patterns with respect to the planetary positions at one's birth. The nature of those patterns--which planets are involved and how they are positioned—appears to correlate in a strikingly consistent way with the archetypal character of the experiences one tends to have at that time."
"Imagine, for a moment, that you are the universe. But for the purposes of this thought experiment, let us imagine that you are not the disenchanted mechanistic universe of conventional modern cosmology, but rather a deep-souled, subtly mysterious cosmos of great spiritual beauty and creative intelligence. And imagine that you are being approached by two different epistemologies—two suitors, as it were, who seek to know you. To whom would you open your deepest secrets? To which approach would you be most likely to reveal your authentic nature? Would you open most deeply to the suitor—the epistemology, the way of knowing—who approached you as though you were essentially lacking in intelligence or purpose, as though you had no interior dimension to speak of, no spiritual capacity or value; who thus saw you as fundamentally inferior to himself (let us give the two suitors, not entirely arbitrarily, the traditional masculine gender); who related to you as though your existence were valuable primarily to the extent that he could develop and exploit your resources to satisfy his various needs; and whose motivation for knowing you was ultimately driven by a desire for increased intellectual mastery, predictive certainty, and efficient control over you for his own self-enhancement?
Or would you, the cosmos, open yourself most deeply to that suitor who viewed you as being at least as intelligent and noble, as worthy a being, as permeated with mind and soul, as imbued with moral aspiration and purpose, as endowed with spiritual depths and mystery, as he? This suitor seeks to know you not that he might better exploit you but rather to unite with you and thereby bring forth something new, a creative synthesis emerging from both of your depths. "

Some Important Distinctions

When we think about the quantum vacuum or the Akashic Field (the Akashic Record) it is easy to misconceive the nature of that level of reality.
One error is to simply think of it as just a huge energy field like electricity. Then we start to think that energy just randomly flows from one level into the other level as if it were just a giant electricity generator.
The other misconception is that it is simply like a film record of all the physical events that occurred throughout history.
Both these conceptions are inadequate.
It would be closer to say that it is the repository of the Platonic forms (ideas) or archetypes. That it is the repository of the giant patterns that we call "myths".
In other words it is not simply the record of the actual events but of the patterns and forms that physical events conform to and the personal manifestations of those patterns.

It is also important to realize that it is not impersonal.
It is a living intelligence with consciousness. In this respect, it is closer to being the mind of God. Everything is connected.
And it has its own time which is eternal (continuously present) in relation to our time.
(Actually this higher realm itself consists of further levels).

It is also important to keep in mind that it interpenetrates all of reality (all of matter, all of space).

Space, the Plenum, the Akashic Field and the Quantum Vacuum

The underlying foundation of reality has been called different names at different times.
Even science is now recognizing the existence of something beyond the senses.
"Until recently, asserting that information is objectively present in nature and not only in the human realm was considered metaphysical. This is no longer the case. It is now recognised that information is present in all things; as John Wheeler remarked, in some respects it the most fundamental feature of the universe. Experiments designed to test the Einstein-Podolski-Rosen hypothesis indicate that already quanta behave in an informed manner: they appear to make choices of their own, and respond to choices by other quanta. Either they have a form of consciousness (a thesis entertained by some physicists), or they are embedded in a complex informational environment. The latter is the minimally speculative assumption. It suggests that even in the absence of matter space is neither empty nor passive. As this writer among others has suggested, cosmic space is not a vacuum, but a plenum. In recognition of the prophetic insight of ancient Sanskrit and Hindu cosmology – where Akasha is the most fundamental of the five elements, the one from which the others arise – this writer calls the field that fills cosmic space the “Akashic Field.
The idea that space is active and filled with physically significant events is not unique to Sanskrit and Hindu cosmology; it has noteworthy antecedents also in the history of science.
“The concept of space,” Albert Einstein noted, “We have now come to the conclusion that space is the primary thing and matter only secondary; we may say that space, in revenge for its former inferior position, is now eating up matter.” A few years later Erwin Schrödinger restated the same thought: “What we observe as material bodies and forces are nothing but shapes and variations in the structure of space."
(Ervin Laszlo)

Some Thoughts

Many traditions present the idea of reality as interpenetrating levels. Certainly we are aware of interpenetrating levels within us such as cells, molecules, electrons etc.
It is not as easy to conceptualize (and perceive) levels above us, but it can be done.
What science calls the quantum vacuum is a dim perception of a higher (deeper) level of reality. And that level of reality follows different rules than the levels we are used to.
The reason for that is that this higher level (astral level) has a greater degree of freedom. For example it is not constrained by time and space.
In this post I wish to focus on one very small (but important) aspect of this issue. The subject is time.
We often say that a higher level ("God" if you prefer) is beyond time and space.
It would be more accurate to say that "God" is beyond our time and space.
It ("He") still has its own time and space.
For example let us say that the sun is a higher level of being.
The sun level is beyond our time. All of human history is but a moment in the time (life) of the sun.
The sun experiences (sees) all of human history together.
As an analogy, imagine a DVD playing infinitely quickly so that all of history recorded on it (in full 3d) would take a fraction of a second. If you had the capability to take it all in, then you would be approximating to the level of the intelligence of the sun.
The word for this is "eternal". The word eternal is often thought of as an infinite extension in time. This is not the sense in which I am speaking. In the sense in which I am speaking, it is continuously present.
So in our analogy with the DVD, you as the watcher of the DVD are constantly present across all of the time of the DVD. Whenever someone on the DVD would look "up", you would be there unchanged. The rate of time is different between the two levels.
Science is dimly aware of this idea in the Theory of Relativity and in the unique nature of light which is beyond time.
As Bernhard Haisch put it:
"..let us ask ourselves how the universe of space and time would appear from the perspective of a beam of light. The laws of relativity are clear on this point. If you could ride a beam of light as an observer, all of space would shrink to a point, and all of time would collapse to an instant. In the reference frame of light, there is no space and time."
As Rodney Collin put it:
"If light can diffuse and endure undiminished for half-a-billion years, it can surely do so for ever. This means that all light, from a candle or from a super-sun, sooner or later fills the entire universe. Light is undiminishable, eternal and omnipresent. In every religion that existed these qualities have been recognized as divine. So that we are forced to the conclusion that light - actual sensible light - is indeed the direct vehicle of divinity: it is the consciousness of God."

In summary, "God" is eternal in relation to our time.

The Universe – More Like a Great Thought Than a Great Machine

The Universe – More Like a Great Thought Than a Great Machine
"I propose a theory in this book [The God Theory] that does provide a purpose for our lives while at the same time being completely consistent with everything we have discovered about the universe and about life on earth, in particular the Big Bang, a 4.6 billion-year-old earth, and, of course, evolution. The single difference between the theory I propose and the ideas current in modern astrophysics is that I assume that an infinite conscious intelligence preexists. You cannot get away from the preexistence of something, and whether that is an ensemble of physical laws generating infinite random universes or an infinite conscious intelligence is something present-day science cannot resolve, and indeed one view is not more rational than the other.
So let’s call it God – who has infinite potential, whose ideas become the laws of physics of our universe and others, and whose purpose in so doing is the transformation of potential into experience. The difference between being able to do something and actually doing it is vast: making it happen, experiencing what it feels like, savoring the sensations are the tremendous difference between theory and practice. Playing the game is far more satisfying than reading the rules.
Astrophysicist Sir James Jeans wrote in the 1930s, “…the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine.” So, too, I am proposing, in The God Theory, that ultimately it is consciousness that is the origin of matter, energy, and the laws of nature in this universe and all others that may exist. And the purpose is for God to experience his potential. God’s ideas and abilities become God’s experience in the life of every sentient being. What greater purpose could there be for each of us humans than that of creating God’s experience? God experiences the richness of his potential through us because we are the incarnations of him in the physical realm."
(Bernard Haisch)

The Cosmic Octave

The Cosmic Octave:
"The cosmic octave is based upon a principle in physics, which is the process of octavation.
In 1978 the Swiss Mathematician Hans Cousto had the idea that the harmonic law of doubling frequencies or the process to half the frequencies can be used beyond the range of audible perception. This created the possibility of appropriating octave-analogue tones and rhythms to the rotation of planets and the vibration level of molecules."
"In 1978 Hans Cousto, a Swiss mathematician and musicologist discovered the natural law of the "Cosmic Octave" as the link between different kinds of perodically occurring natural phenomena, such as the orbit of the planets, the weather, colors and musical rhythms and tones."

Matter from Light

Scientists use light to create particles:
"A trailblazing experiment at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in California has confirmed a longstanding prediction by theorists that light beams colliding with each other can goad the empty vacuum into creating something out of nothing.

In a report published this month by the journal Physical Review Letters, 20 physicists from four research institutions disclosed that they had created two tiny specks of matter -- an electron and its antimatter counterpart, a positron -- by colliding two ultrapowerful beams of radiation."

Messages in Water

This is based on the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto:

Lakhovsky - A man ahead of his time

Many of the ideas that I am outlining in this blog were foreseen by Georges Lakhovsky:,M1
"The process of the appearance of life may conceivably have been as follows: under the action of electromagnetic radiations of cosmic origin, certain molecules of chemical compounds and certain atoms of simple elements, contained in globules of water, were orientated along lines of force of an electric field generated by some astral body, charged "positively" while the earth was charged "negatively".
Let us note that owing to the multiplicity of astral electric fields, orientation of molecules could have been effected just as well along lines of force coming from the sun as from the moon, Mars, Jupiter or any other planet or astral body."
"Lakhovsky tells us that not only do all living cells produce and radiate oscillations of very high frequencies, but they also receive and respond to oscillations imposed upon them from outside sources. This outside source of radiation or oscillations are due to cosmic rays which bombard the earth continuously. "

Making Something out of Everything

Bernhard Haisch again (page 30):,M1
"If you think of white light as a metaphor of infinite, formless potential, the colors on a slide or frame of film become a structured reality ... that comes about through intelligent subtraction from that absolute formless potential. It results from the limitation of the unlimited".
"Viewed this way, the process of creation is the exact opposite of making something out of nothing. It is on the contrary a filtering process that makes something out of everything. Creation is not capricious or random addition; it is intelligent and selective subtraction. The implications of this are profound." (Bernhard Haisch)

Beyond Space and Time

Light is beyond space and time in its own frame of reference.
Bernhard Haisch refers to this:
"As encouraged as I am, it is still too early to say whether history will prove us right or wrong. But if we are right, then "Let there be light" is indeed a very profound statement, as one might expect of its purported author. The solid, stable world of matter appears to be sustained at every instant by an underlying sea of quantum light. But let's take this even one step further. If it is the underlying realm of light that is the fundamental reality propping up our physical universe, let us ask ourselves how the universe of space and time would appear from the perspective of a beam of light. The laws of relativity are clear on this point. If you could ride a beam of light as an observer, all of space would shrink to a point, and all of time would collapse to an instant. In the reference frame of light, there is no space and time. If we look up at the Andromeda galaxy in the night sky, we see light that from our point of view took 2 million years to traverse that vast distance of space. But to a beam of light radiating from some star in the Andromeda galaxy, the transmission from its point of origin to our eye was instantaneous. There must be a deeper meaning in these physical facts, a deeper truth about the simultaneous interconnection of all things. It beckons us forward in our search for a better, truer understanding of the nature of the universe, of the origins of space and time — those "illusions" that yet feel so real to us." (Bernhard Haisch)

An Essential Distinction

We must make an essential distinction.
On one side, we have the electromagnetic spectrum including visible light. This side can be measured by instruments.
On the other side, we have a "field" of energy (sometimes called "subtle energy") that can never be measured by any instrument and that can never be "seen" with our common physical senses. This does not mean that it can never be detected. Its effect can be seen in the material level of reality and it's actual presence can be intuited.
If we keep this essential distinction constantly in mind we can begin to distinguish between the various observations, experiments and experiences recorded in the literature throughout the course of human history.
Here is a reference to the distinction:
"According to the definition of ISSSEEM, subtle energies are believed to move within the so-called ‘etheric’ (or subtle) energy body. ISSSEEM further asserts that “it is traditionally accepted that expansions of consciousness often are related to changes in subtle energies that cannot be quantified. These latter ‘energies’, which are said to be associated with interactions and with transcendence, may not, in fact, actually be involved with known physical fields.
William Tiller, professor emeritus of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University, has been studying subtle energies and the interface of science and consciousness for many decades. In his paper titled “What are Subtle Energies” he refers to subtle energies as real energies that are not directly observable because they function at a different level than observable reality. According to Tiller, they function ”at the level of the ‘vacuum’, the negative energy, chaotic Dirac Sea.” Subtle energies are those energies beyond the four known energies of electromagnetism, gravitation, the strong nuclear force and the weak nuclear force, which are needed to explain anomalous phenomena. Tiller further states that a magnetic vector potential “appears to play the role of ‘bridge’ between the subtle, unobservable energies and physically observable energies associated with electric and magnetic fields.”" (Nicole Löffler)

The Invisible Sea of Light

The key is the invisible sea of light.
"Conventional wisdom has virtual photons popping in and out of existence even within our own frame of reference, but has little to say about the vast network of interconnected light that virtual photons must inhabit outside of our normal frame of reference because light experiences no time."
"The whole is out there as a vast network of interconnected light simultaneously traversing all of space and time, where resides the unity of intelligent consciousness underlying the universe which in simplistic historical terminology many would term 'God'. It is not an external God though, if God is even the right term, because we are ourselves occupied by tiny portions at a time which we experience as personal consciousness, that elusive self-awareness." (Karl Simanonok)
"To reduce our DNA to the point of sub-atomic particles of energy may leave us wondering what is left. Our bodies have now totally disappeared into a sea of energy that is seemingly under the control of a superconscious energy field. From this vantage point we begin to see how we are interconnected with everything else." (Stephen Linsteadt)

The Choreographed Cell Division Dance

The dance of centrioles and microtubules in cell division (mitosis)

Take a look at the microtubules reaching out to separate the cell into two. Could there also be information transfer at this point through the fiber optic channel of the microtubules?

What is directing this dance? The answer is right in front of us.

The Wonder of Microtubules

The wonder of microtubules:

We are more fundamentally electromagnetic, rather than chemical beings.

"We are more fundamentally electromagnetic, rather than chemical beings."

"DNA is not the driver of evolution but even more fundamental quantum mechanical symmetry-breaking forces (King, 2003).

If we drop down another whole domain of observation from the juicy “wetware” described by chemistry and atomic structure, we enter the subatomic realm of quantum physics. At this level the behavior of matter, both organic and inorganic, is governed not by classical notions of cause and effect or even complex dynamics, but by those of quantum probability.

“Something” appears to emerge from virtually “nothing” which physicists have come to describe as a sea of infinite potential. They call it quantum foam, vacuum potential, or zero-point energy. We can call it the vacuum substructure. Subatomic particles wink in and out of existence on a continuous basis, like some subatomic froth. This “something” appears paradoxically in wave/particle form. This world is not transcendent to matter, but underlies it as a coherent unity, much like ecology underlies biology. (Iona Miller)"

Crossing the Threshold

Crossing the threshold to the non-physical level of reality:
This non-physical level is sometimes called the "quantum vacuum", "physical vacuum" or the "plenum". I like the term the "sea of light" as well.
"According to the biophoton theory developed on the base of these discoveries the biophoton light is stored in the cells of the organism - more precisely, in the DNA molecules of their nuclei - and a dynamic web of light constantly released and absorbed by the DNA may connect cell organelles, cells, tissues, and organs within the body and serve as the organism's main communication network and as the principal regulating instance for all life processes. The processes of morphogenesis, growth, differentiation and regeneration are also explained by the structuring and regulating activity of the coherent biophoton field. The holographic biophoton field of the brain and the nervous system, and maybe even that of the whole organism, may also be basis of memory and other phenomena of consciousness, as postulated by neurophysiologist Karl Pribram and others. The consciousness-like coherence properties of the biophoton field are closely related to its base in the properties of the physical vacuum and indicate its possible role as an interface to the non-physical realms of mind, psyche and consciousness.(William F. Hamilton)"

Biophotons - Introduction 2

Introduction 2.
"The cell's inner most center is made up of ribonucleic acid and proteins (all molecules). The antenna or filament strand like configuration of DNA allows the molecules to receive and transmit electromagnetic frequency information along its nucleotide bases, creating resonance reactions within targeted genetic or nucleotide triplets that create the template for the formation of messenger RNA (mRNA). Once mRNA has formed it leaves the cell nucleus and attaches to structures known as ribosomes. Using raw material from the cell, the ribosomes produce proteins by following the sequence as instructed by the mRNA. The proteins in turn go about doing their jobs inside or outside the cell based on the original instructions passed down from the electromagnetic coding to DNA to RNA and finally to the ribosomes. This process is known as transcription and provides the means for electromagnetic frequency oscillations, the body's master conductor, to interact with the cell's command center to instruct what notes to play, when, how loud, how long, etc., etc. in order to maintain the precision and harmony of the whole body's vibratory and cellular orchestra. Biophotons - Introduction 1

The role of biophotons:

"This article also describes the exciting research of German biophysicist Fritz Albert Popp, Ph.D., a Nobel Prize nominee in physics, who investigated the relationship between coherence and the biophoton energy in our cells. Popp used highly sensitive light-measuring equipment to monitor the light emitted by living cells. He was able to confirm that living cells emit small bursts of light. He determined that cells do not just radiate light, they also absorb light. In fact, the storage time is relative to the quality of the cell. Therefore, a healthy cell will store light the longest, while an unhealthy cell will give off the light in a shorter time. He also discovered that the dying process of a cell is identical to that of a star. Shortly before its death, it will change into a supernova, whereby its radiation increases a thousand-fold, He further discovered that a healthy cell radiates coherent light, while a diseased cell radiates chaotic light.

According to Popp, every cell in our body receives coherent light, stores coherent light, and emits coherent light. The most basic sub-molecular component of our body is made up of particles of light called biophotons. These biophotons, traveling at the speed of light, make up the electromagnetic frequency patterns that are found in every living organism. This matrix or field of frequency oscillations or resonance specificity provides the energetic switchboarding behind every cellular function, including DNA/RNA messengering. Cell membranes scan and convert signals into electromagnetic events as proteins within the cell's bi-layer change shape to vibrations of specific resonant frequencies. Every biochemical reaction is proceeded by an electromagnetic signal. Cells communicate both electromagnetically and chemically and create biochemical pathways that interconnect with all functions of the body. (Stephen Linsteadt)"

Cilia and the Antenna

Cilia and the antenna (Cilia you're breaking my heart)
"On the surface of nearly every cell in the body is a slender protuberance called the primary cilium. Although ubiquitous, the primary cilium was long considered—with a few exceptions—to be a largely useless evolutionary vestige, destined to go the way of the tailbone and the wisdom tooth. But now we know that cilia are functioning organelles, essential to normal development and health.
Some cilia are rigid spikes that act as antennae, gathering sensory information for the cell from the surrounding environment. Other cilia are flexible and whip-like, capable of registering the surrounding fluid's flow and ebb. (Mary Beth Gardiner)"

"An analogy for our artificial sensory
system in the animal world would be the cellular
cilia, insect antennae, as well as the specialized
sensory hairs of mammalian whiskers."
We see the implementation of (infrared) light sensing at different levels of reality (eg. the world of the cell, the world of Nature and the world of Humanity).

Why a Paradigm Shifts

Thomas Kuhn in his ground breaking book "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" showed that science does not progress in a continuous series of small increments but periodically shifts from one paradigm to another. The previous paradigm is completely discarded.
This is a fundamental idea in understanding the development of scientific ideas.
I would only add that these paradigms often occur when a new technology such as the microscope or telescope etc. allows us to see another level of reality and begin to understand the effect that level has on what we thought we understood previously.

The Role of Centrioles

What is the role of the centriole? Check it out:
"The living cell is an incredible/amazingly complex structure which science cannot even fully explain operationally. As the Virtual Cell site displays beautifully, the centrioles are structures within animal cells which are probably the key to understanding to some degree how the inanimate becomes animate and possibly even the source of consciousness to some limited degree. (Science now has little understanding if any of how consciousness comes about. Even if the centrioles play a role consciousness which can be somewhat understood by science, science will still be silent on what consciousness is (beyond an operational description), but may at least gain a small understanding of how it comes to be manifest in the physical world.)"

Light and Fiber Optics in the Cellular World

Light and Fiber Optics in the Cellular World
"In a test of a hypothesis of cell-to-cell communication via their endogenous photon emissions, the nearly pure collagen fibers in tendon were found to exhibit the fiber optic property of axially conducting light, providing a mechanism for photon exchange between nonadjacent cells. Further, it was found that light penetrates farther along the tendon fibers when tension is applied to an end-illuminated tendon, establishing that an elastooptic mechanism exists for the modulation of photon signals in transit between cells, in the hypothesized system of cell-to-cell photon communication." (Karl E. Simanonok)
"In order to reveal any roles played by stems and roots of herbaceous plants in responding to the surrounding light environment, the optical properties of the stem and root tissues of 18 herbaceous species were investigated. It was found that light was able to penetrate through to the interior of the stem and was then conducted towards the roots. Light conduction was carried out within the internodes and across the nodes of the stem, and then in the roots from the tap root to lateral roots. Light conduction in both the stem and root occurred in the vascular tissue, usually with fibres and vessels serving as the most efficient axial light conductors. The pith and cortex in many cases were also involved in axial light conduction. Investigation of the spectral properties of the conducted light made it clear that only the spectral region between 710 nm and 940 nm (i.e. far-red and near infra-red light) was the most efficiently conducted in both the stem and the root. It was also found that there were light gradients in the axial direction of the stem or root, and the light intensity generally exhibited a linear attenuation in accord with the distance of conduction. These results revealed that tissues of the stem and root are bathed in an internal light environment enriched in far-red light, which may be involved in phytochrome-mediated metabolic activities. Thus, it appears that light signals from above-ground directly contribute to the regulation of the growth and development of underground roots via an internal light-conducting system from the stem to the roots." Light Bridges the Gap

How does light connect levels of reality? Here is a likely mechanism:
Evidence is presented for existing and hypothetical structures and functions which 'bridge the explanatory gap' to mechanistically explain how individual consciousnesses could be derived from a higher (God) consciousness through an interface created in the brain by endogenous (emitted from within) light. It is hypothesized that photons emitted from cells in the brain are guided to the surfaces of the brain's fluid-filled ventricular spaces, where the photons interact with beating cilia lining those ventricles and are guided by the beat timing to form interference patterns in the ventricular spaces, creating an interface (a nexus) through which a tiny portion of the "light of God" is able to animate the corpus. Some of the necessary mechanisms such as light emissions from cells are known; others are hypothetical. Fortunately some of the hypothesized mechanisms of this model of consciousness are readily testable." (Karl E. Simanonok)

The Intelligent Cell

At the level of the cell the new paradigm includes the idea of cell intelligence.
This link is fundamental to an understanding of this new idea:
Are there reasons to think that cells are intelligent?
"The prevailing wisdom of modern biology [old paradigm] has it that cells are immensely complex, but rigidly operating chemical machines that derive their operating instructions internally from their genes and externally from chemicals and electrical signals emitted rigidly by other cells. Unable to believe that any machine can be designed that contains an instruction library which anticipates all the mishaps and glitches of a billion years of evolution without crashing over and over again, I began almost three decades ago to search for signs that the cell was actually a 'smart' machine. In other words, I looked for experimental evidence that cells contained a signal integration system that allowed them to sense, weigh and process huge numbers of signals from outside and inside their bodies and to make decisions on their own. " (Guenter Albrecht-Buehler)
